Golden Milk Recipe

I've spent a good amount of my life obsessing about this glorious beverage. Chilled or hot this is a fantastic eventing or morning drink. With plenty of health benefits from its various spices, this drink is sure to be just as nourishing as it is delicious. This recipe is for a large batch because you're going to want a lot of this magical creation. It yields a half gallon. If you want less just half the recipe. This recipe includes the ingredients to homemade cashew milk which I highly recommend, however it can be made with any milk alternative to keep things simpler. Just substitute the cashews and water for 6 cups milk alternative of your choice. If you don't have a high powered blender such as a vitamix, I recommend using store bought alternative milk.


Ingredients:


5 cups filtered water

1 cup cashews (soaked for several hours)

1 can full fat coconut milk

1/2 tbs turmeric powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cardamom

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup honey or dates to desired sweetness


Directions:


Combine all ingredients in a high power blender on high for several minutes until fully blended. Serve chilled over ice or warm on the stove for a steamy beverage. Enjoy!
